What happens if I don't go to court in Tennessee?
I recently went to Bonnaroo. There were three cars traveling altogether. We all got pulled over in Cookeville, Tennessee, about a half hour from Manchester, Tennessee where Bonnaroo was being held at. The cops pulled all three cars over for driving too close. They threatened to bring out the dogs if we didn't confess we didn't have any drugs/paraphanelia on us... so we just said **** it and let them search us. All they found was weed and pieces... nothing serious like coke or heroin. EVERYBODY who was either charged with drug possession or paraphanelia possession has court dates in Tennessee in August. Most of us are from Cape Cod, and we think it is ******* stupid that we have to travel ALL the way back to Tennessee to appear in court. Our citations said if we don't show up, a warrant will be out for our arrest and we will have a $2,500 fine and we will be going to jail for 11 months at the maximum. But what happens if we straight up don't go to court? They have our addresses, but are they really going to drive 18 hours to our houses to arrest us all because we had a small amount of weed? What would happen if we don't show up for our court dates?
