What are some really good plays to do?

I'm in high school and our director wants us to find some really good plays to do. Typically around 12 characters or more would be good. It doesn't matter what the length. Maybe at one hour to two hours. I've been looking up some, but none I really know about. If you could help me out and put a link to where I can find a synopsis of them that would be great. No musicals. We're already going to do Footloose. Thanks!
