I need to know How to fight a wrongful traffic citation.?

I received a ticket in statesboro, GA in feb. 2011. I was not going to pay the ticket. It was "obedience to a traffic device"--he pulled me over for turning right on a red light. There was not a sign that said no turn on red, so i drove. I feel he was only trying to meet a quota. He was very rude, and I addressed that to him. I forgot the court date bc i was in school. Busy art student. So, i recently found out that my license were suspended. The only way that i could handle anything, is w/ a license in hand, so i paid the ticket. An unnecessary 275.00. I had to get my license re-instated --damn GA took another 105. that is 380.00 GA has from me, when the cop was WRONG. I have seen so many drivers proceed through that light (cops, school bus drivers, delivery drivers, etc.), and i am the only one to get stopped. I need to fight this. This has hurt me, because the judicial system (when i had to pay this ticket) automatically agreed that the cop was right and I was out of line. I can admit when i am wrong and this is NOT one of those times. If anyone can tell me who i should go through, what i need to do, and how i need to go about doing it, i would be very appreciative. Thanks in advance!
